World AMR Awareness Week 2025

17 – 24 November 2025

Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is already reshaping health care in the Western Pacific Region. Hospitals are treating more difficult infections, medicines are losing efficacy, and frontline workers face daily pressure to balance care with stewardship.

In the spirit of the 2025 WAAW theme “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future” WHO hosted a webinar for the Western Pacific Region: TrACSSing the Path to Action — Reflections on AMR Progress and Gaps in the Western Pacific Region.

The webinar aimed to turn data into dialogue and dialogue into action. It brought together Member States, partners, and technical experts from across the Western Pacific to reflect on progress and gaps in implementing AMR responses within the human health sector.

The session presented the key findings from the 2025 Tracking AMR Country Self-Assessment Survey (TrACSS) for the Region, shared country experiences on how data informs policy and practice, and discussed priority actions to accelerate implementation of national AMR measures. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in dialogue on how to sustain momentum, strengthen regional cooperation, and ensure that AMR data drives concrete, measurable action toward protecting health and securing the future.
