Programmatic innovations in TB prevention and care, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic

Concept Introduction

The WHO Global Tuberculosis Programme is collecting case studies to document innovative approaches and lessons learnt to improve provision of TB services in times of COVID-19.

The significant demand of the COVID-19 pandemic on health systems and economies, coupled with public health measures such as restricted movement, have exacerbated the pandemic’s adverse impact on TB services. As a chronic lung disease, TB may worsen outcomes in people with COVID-19. Successfully containing the double threat of TB and COVID-19, therefore requires innovation, impactful policies and global collaborations.

WHO/GTB envisions to document (and publish on its website) case studies to enhance learning, innovation and evidence based decision making.
